What software do you use to write?

I realized the other day in talking to some friends that I use a few more pieces of software than other writers. I use, or instance, FreeMind (a great opensource Java mindmaping tool). I’m kind of curious, what do you use?

I posted my full list on PLUMB Blog here.

I have just begun using Freemind to start transferring plot, character, place notes from journals.

Am using yWriter for long form fiction

Thanks for the recommendation. Freemind is great. I found another mindmapping tool that open and export the (.mm) format to (.ompl) — the list format (MindNode). MindNode isn’t as a good as Freemind for making the maps. I’ll check out yWriter.
